As president Yoweri Museveni was swearing in Thursday at Kololo
Ceremonial grounds, there was a raid on Bobi Wine’s Fire Base studios by
security agencies including the army and police.
Four people were arrested.
“They were bundled up into a car, humiliated, and are now detained at Kira Road Police station. The arrested artists include: Red Aya, Dex, Wagi, and the CEO of Bigs promotion who had come to book these artists for a small gig.”
The good news is that, all the four musicians have finally been released after spending close to four days behind bars.
The news of their release has been confirmed by the Fire Base president himself.
“Finally our artists have been released from jail since Thursday morning. We have done post-detention counselling and they are now already in a good mood heading to one love Beach Busabala for the Carnival. We are musicians not politicians…We are citizens not criminals!”
