4 ball bliss at Royal Oak Golf Club
THE
skies were kind to the 100-strong field on 12 October 2017 as golfers
teed off in the Brakpan Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk annual Charity
Golf Day.
Golfers
came from all over Gauteng to enjoy a great day out at the Royal Oak
Golf Club, while also raising much-needed funds for projects undertaken
by the church to support the community
THE
Brakpan Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk members and supporters all
swapped suits for plus fours and other sporty attire for their annual
charity golf day which used the four-ball ambrose format with a shotgun
start at noon. This was followed by the presentation of trophies and
prizes plus a meal from about 5pm.
Each year the club hosts a golf day to raise money for a chosen charity.
This
year the proceeds went to the church that operates in and serves the
Brakpan community. The church welcomed hole sponsors to the event – many
returning for a third year. A total of 100 golfers were set to play the
day in 25 teams of four and all 18 holes were sponsored by regional
businesses including Instantia, Bakwai Techologies, BEE-Easy,
Haggai-Edutrain and Face2Face Insurance brokers to mention only a few.
Last
year’s event was a huge success with a sea of players to celebrate and
raise much-needed funds for projects undertaken to support the local
community.
The event was well organised and much fun was had by all.
We
would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the players and
to thank the organisers for hosting a wonderful event. We look forward
to participating again next year.
