MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison visits Carnarvon #COVID19
NORTHERN CAPE - The Honourable MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison in the Northern Cape Ms Nontobeko Vilakazi visited Carnarvon area this morning in order to assess police operations aimed at containing the Corona virus.
The MEC, joined by the Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for policing, Major General Phiwe Mnguni, Cluster Commander of Pixley ka Seme Brig Adonis, Brig Mohale Ramatseba and Station Commander of Carnarvon, Lt Col Ford interacted with motorists during vehicle check point in Carnarvon. The MEC sensitised motorists about frequent washing of hands, sanitizing and most importantly staying at home as part of fighting the spread of the Corona virus.
The MEC further reminded members of Carnarvon to continue flying the province's flag high after the station was declared the best station during the 2020 National Service Excellence Awards ceremony held in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.
The MEC's visit in the area was preceded by crime awareness campaign for the COVID -19 through Ulwazi FM in De Aar last night. The MEC was accompanied by the Provincial Head of Corporate Communication and Liaison Brig Mohale Ramatseba who urged the residents to adhere to the Disaster Management Act regulations.
