OVID-19 UPDATE:
Government has started distribution of masks, which has been launched today by the 1st Deputy Prime Minister, Gen. Moses Ali.
Government will use Shs2 billion to distribute face masks bought at Shs79 billion. Each face mask was bought at Shs2,400, according to health minister Ruth Aceng. It’s not clear why Government bought these masks expensively yet the ones sold by Buganda Government each costs Shs 1000.
A total of 750,000 face masks will be distributed to communities in the border districts of; Adjumani, Amuru, Kyotera and Rakai. Over 30M masks will be distributed countrywide, as easier promised by President Museveni as a process of easing the almost three months lockdown.
The ministry says, The mask distribution is part of government interventions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The masks are made up of 3 layers; the outer layer is 65% polyester and 35% cotton, middle layer is made up of chiffon while the inner most layer is made of cotton.

Meanwhile, Results from samples tested on 09 June 2020 confirm 8 new COVID-19 cases. The total confirmed cases are now 665 in Uganda.
Total COVID-19 recoveries: 119
However there is a mixup with WHO Africa putting Uganda’s cumulative cases at 775.
