Mafikeng alleged cash-in-transit suspect arrested, one suspect still sought.
NORTH WEST – The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation arrested a suspect last night in a multi-disciplinary operation in Soweto. The suspect was being sought for his alleged involvement in the Mafikeng cash in transit heist wherein two Hawks’ members were murdered.
Ten suspects have been accounted for, in this case thus far.
The last suspect is still on the run. Mr Tebo Phuthegolo, also known as, Boitumelo Mashishi (picture attached) is called upon to hand himself over so that he can come and prove his innocent before court.
The public is warned not to approach the wanted suspect as he is considered armed and dangerous. Any member of the public who might be harbouring the wanted suspect is being warned to immediately desist from such as it is a criminal offence which could lead to them being charged as accessories to the crime.
We appeal to anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the sought suspect to contact Lieutenant Colonel Gert Serfontein on 071 481 3394 or Warrant Officer Trevor Shaw on 0826975873, alternatively to contact SAPS Crime Stop on 086 00 10111 or provide information via the MYSAPS app. All information will be treated with strictest confidence and callers may remain anonymous.
