Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah has mourned the late Col Christopher Acellam as a disciplined, industrious and hardworking officer of the Uganda People's Defense Force (UPDF).
In Kona-Agula village, Lalogi Sub County, Omoro District where the late Col Acellam's remains were laid to rest, Oulanyah called upon Ugandans to realise the deadly seriousness of the Covid19 pandemic.
Most Ugandans, he said, have lowered their guards with respect to adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as communicated by President Yoweri Museveni and the Ministry of Health.
Oulanyah said it is pointless for a section of the country to protect themselves against the pandemic, while others continue to dismiss it as a hoax, which he said would reduce the efforts of the vigilant to nothing.
Oulanyah described the late Col Acellam as a humble soul that never begrudged anyone.
Also present were MPs Maj Susan Lakot (UPDF), Catherine Lamwaka (NRM, Omoro) and Simon Oyet (FDC, Nwoya).
Also present was Brig Rugadya Akiiki, who represented Chief of Defense Forces Gen David Muhoozi.
