Police bust drug dealer with mandrax tablets worth more than R160 000 #DrugsOffTheStreets
NORTHERN CAPE - Police in Namaqua Cluster confiscated mandrax tablets worth more than R160 000. Suspected drug dealers aged 58, 49 and 39 were apprehended during Covid-19 lockdown operations in the Springbok and Okiep areas. The arrest came after the police followed up information regarding drug dealing activities at the premises of the suspects.
During the Covid-19 Operation fines to the value of more than R4500 were issued against individuals who failed to confine themselves to their residence during the lockdown down, and for contravening National Disaster Management Act Regulations.
Compliance inspections were conducted on retailers in Springbok policing areas.
The Namaqua Cluster Commander, Brigadier Francis Hender applauded the police in his cluster for bringing crime perpetrators to book during the Covid-19 Operations.
The suspects arrested for drug dealing are expected to appear before the Springbok Magistrate's Court soon.
