Hundreds of people have been displaced after two rivers in Kasese district and one in neighboring Bundibugyo burst their banks, flooding surrounding areas.
In Kasese, Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) confirmed that Nyamwamba and Mubuku rivers had filled up and flooded nearby areas.
As a result, one security guard was trapped in the floods while many people had been displaced.
In Bundibugyo, River Lamia which runs along the Uganda-DR Congo border had also burst its banks.
Property worth millions of shillings, including a church, were swept away.
